I’m sorry all your morning runners, it does. I do not like waking up early and running and I don’t think my legs do either. I’m much happier at night. Plus its crazy quiet in the morning. Whatever… I’m going to be sucking it up and doing morning running at least on Wednesdays and possibly Mondays for the next 5ish weeks.
Here’s my lovely mug at 4:45 in the morning… sporting a skirt again. I look happy, I’m not.
This is one of my favorite skirts cause the shorts under don’t bug me. I could probably run long in this skirt, can’t say that for the others…
Well after last night’s interval workout, my legs were kinda pissed at me this morning. I managed to squeak out my 20 minutes but it wasn’t beautiful and I was tight and uncomfortable the whole time. My left leg was being a bitch again, I threatened it again but it continued.
20 minutes – 1.72 miles – 11:38 pace
I suppose I should look at it in perspective. I would’ve died to run at that pace a year ago.
Okay, how many of you are in love with morning running? Don’t you get creeped out over the overwhelming quiet?
I don’t know how many times I jumped at my own shadow because I thought someone was behind me…

When it’s hot like this, I prefer to run in the morning. During the school year though, I have a hard time getting up early enough so I switch to afternoons.*
I don’t really enjoy morning running. I have a hard time getting up and moving that fast in the morning. I’m working on running in the morning on the weekends just to keep my nights open and not have to run in this horrible heat but I have been too good at.
I agree. Morning running on the weekends is a necessity. Mainly cause I like to be able to drink Saturday night… maybe afternoon…
Randee and I do early morning runs…4:45am 6 days a week! Can’t say I love them, but it’s the only time of day that is just ours. No kids. No husbands. No one to bug us! However, I don’t run alone. If I did I think the dark and quiet would freak me out a little bit! Great job!
I “think” it would be different if I had a running buddy. I have no problems on Saturday getting up and going to the group run cause I know friends are there. I’m jealous you have a running buddy for all your runs….
I think I do my best running early in the AM! If I wait until after work, then I am just too tired to go:(
Morning running DOES suck. I’m never fully awake for it but in the evening I have SO much more energy. But when I run in the morning, it’s usually in the gym because I will get jacked in my neighborhood. I’ll be doing morning runs once or twice a week until marathon training is over. Boo.
Well we don’t need you getting jacked… so play it safe and continue to hit up the gym. Once my stupid class is over I’m back to being mrs. night runner.
I absolutely love running in the morning. And by morning I mean like 6 or 7 ON THE WEEKENDS!!! i love the quietness actually.
however i am NOT a fan of morning running mon-fri because it means I am running at 5am. in the creepy dark.
If it is SUPER early I like having a partner but usually in my neighborhood from 6:30 to about 10:30 it is hoppin with exercisers!
I will only run in the mornings for the most part, but I definitely prefer it with a buddy and I wear headphones because the silence creeps me out. It’s kind of weird this week because I’d gotten used to having light and more people around, but the sun is rising later and people are staying in because of the heat, so it is dead again.
I honestly think it is more humid in the morning and hotter in the evenings, so it’s kind of a what is the worse evil kinda game. I prefer evenings because I can’t seem to make myself go to bed early enough to get up early enough to do mornings these days.
Agreed. Way more humid in the mornings and way hotter at night. It’s a lose-lose situation. Thus, I have become a treadmill-er for now.
That’s a whole nother topic… I don’t own a treadmill or else I’m sure I would have a post titled “treadmills suck”. I don’t know how you do it Rachael.
OOh my gosh I wish that I could find those hands for sale, I want some for myself!!!!
I really do love morning running, as long as I fall asleep early enough, that’s totally key!
I always run in the morning. I pretty much wake up between 4:15 and 4:45 every morning….. Cute Skirt =) Also, nice work to run so quickly after an interval workout. Tough as nails I say.

Can you be my hero? I hate waking up.
